Tom Jones a very old idol from the past? Hell no!!
After more than 30 years he is still the one and only
'Jones the Voice'. Nowadays artists like Portishead,
Natalie Imbruglia, the Cardigans and Robbie Williams
couldn't wait to work with 'the Voice'.

He may be a 59 years old grandfather, Tom Jones still has
the charms of a young movie-star. A prominent English
music magazine called him 'an elder uncle, who refuses to
quit and let the new generation pass by.
"Only when my voice can't take it no more, I will stop
singing. But life is quite boring after singing and gives me
no satisfaction, I guess. I don't mind getting older, but I'm
still full of ideas and I still love to make new things.
In this business you must innovate again and again."

Reload is Jones' first album with duets. "I loved the
recordings a lot and the cooperation with young talents
gives me energy", says Jones. "I chose the bands to work
with myself. But the hardest thing to do was looking for
the material, and agree with the artists about the songs.
The artists had big artistic freedom about doing a song.
There was no regularly prescription".

Are there any people you'd like to sing with, but who
were not available?

"Unfortunately Tina Turner couldn't come. She isn't doing
anything at the moment. She has an empty schedule. And
I'd love to do something with All Saints, but we couldn't
agree about the song. I thought about Ray Charles 'Hit
The Road, Jack', but they wanted to do 'What's New
Pussycat'. A good song, but not on this album, I guess".
